About me
1st question why do I take mountain bikes mainly it all started back in 2001 when me and my brother started Southerndownhill.com. Back then I used to race rather than take photos, but as the site started to grow we needed photos and the two main factors 1 me not been that great on a bike and the site not having enough to buy the images.

The bike was sold and replaced with a Canon D60 and that’s when I started to take Mtb photos, over the next 2 years I cover over 70 events as well as running the web site downhill team and working during the week as a forklift truck driver.

In 2004 I was burnt out knackered sick of the M6 and travel lodges so I hung up my camera and started to have a normal life. I got married in 2004 to Claire and In 2005 Ruby was born and In 2008 Sam was born.
So what made me come back to Mtb In Feb of 2009 I won by mistake a Canon D60 on eBay so I kept it and started shooting some local rider’s. In March I attended my 1st downhill race in 5 years at Aston hill met loads of old friends and it was great nice relaxing day shooting a sport I loved.

The images from that event were very well received and I knew I still had it; the photos were used all over the internet to report on the event.
I was asked why not started up again but with a full time job which takes up a lot of my time and 2 kids and a wife I knew it would be imposable. But after thinking about it I decided to do a few events but not as many as I used too. The wife was over the moon!!!! Great she thought she never sees me a lot as it is due to work but she did stand by my love of photographer. And with the help of some great baby sitters I started to attend the races.

2009 has been a great return to the sport over the year my photos have been improving I have moved in to the world of Xc racing covering the local Thetford Mtb racing summer series . The highlight so far has been getting the job as the official photographer for the 2010 British Downhill Championship which I am stoked about. And is going to be a major stepping stone for me to better things.
